HIP-HOP HONOURED WITH A NATIONAL HOLIDAY IN AMERICA
On Aug 11th, 2021 the Hip-hop genre of music turned 48 years since it was conceived at the DJ Kool Herc hosted back to school party in the Bronx. This coincided with the US Senate passing Senate Resolution 331, which legally designated the date as a National Holiday by Unanimous Consent. The Senate also designated August as the 'Hip-hop Recognition Month and November as the 'Hip-hop History Month, according to the Senate Periodical Press Gallery.
