THE MOST EXPENSIVE COMPILATION PIECE OF MUSIC IN HISTORY IS A HIP HOP ALBUM

Hip hop albums are created to get released and are pressed into multiple copies for wider distribution to immerse the maximum amount of profit. However, when it comes to the since unreleased Wu-Tang clan classic album Once Upon A Time in Shaolin, the story is totally different.
Once Upon A Time in Shaolin was the Wu-Tang clan's seventh studio album. It was secretly recorded in six years, and after the recording was done, only one double cd copy of it was pressed in 2014, then stored in a vault securely at Royal Mansour, a luxurious hotel in Marrakech, Morrocco, only to be auctioned through the Paddle 8 auction house in 2015.
Martin Shkreli, a former hedge fund manager, was lucky enough to become the winning bidder for the album, purchasing it for a whopping 2 million dollars. However, the entrepreneur was forced to sign a legal agreement after the purchase which stipulated, that the work of art he had bought was only to be released in 2103, although this didn't bar the purchaser from playing the album at parties if he wanted to, as the proud owner of the masterpiece.
After the sale, Bloomberg Newsweek identified the purchaser as a formerly convicted Turing Pharmaceuticals C.E.O. This made RZA clarify that he never knew who the buyer was before he agreed to the sale. He then went ahead to make it clear that on learning this, he had donated a large amount of the money to charity, including to an organization dedicated to researching for a cure for cancer and other killer diseases.
In 2016, Martin Shkreli went public to state he would release the album if Donald Trump would be successful in winning the American election and stayed true to his promise by streaming part of the music online after the presidential candidate won the election in November of that year to become the elected American president.
However, in March 2018, Martin Shkreli was convicted of fraud charges, this led to his assets being seized by the government, and the album was included as part of the seized belongings. The pharmaceutical C.E.O had unsuccessfully tried to sell the album the previous year on an online auction.
